This site, its adventures and its commitment to education about wild places is dedicated to the memory of Richard and Katherine Huffman, who died spending time in the Arctic they loved along the Hulahula River in June 2005.

I hope you are enjoying your adventures. I want you to know I think about your Dad and Kathy especially in June. I think it’s amazing that with everything that happened you are so grounded to your love of the wilderness and Alaska.
